Clarke County, Alabama
Clarke County is a woodland paradise located in the southwest corner of the state. It is bordered on the west by the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and on the east by the Alabama River.
The county is the third largest in the state, encompassing 1,238 square miles. Thousands of acres of forests and hundreds of miles of rivers offer abundant hunting and freshwater fishing in the area.
Grove Hill, located near the center of the county, is the seat of country government. The Clarke County Courthouse is located on Court Street.
Clarke County's government is directed by a five-member Commission.
