Clarke County is served by a major four-lane highway (U.S. Highway 43) which runs north-south through the county and into Mobile to the south and Tuscaloosa to the north. Also, U.S. Highway 84 runs east-west through the county and is a major connecting route from Georgia to Mississippi. In addition, well-maintained state and county roads serve the local and area needs of the county.
Norfolk-Southern Railroad also runs through the majority of the county with daily and piggyback service available. In addition, Clarke County is home to two air strips. (See Below) A 2,220' paved strip at Grove Hill and a 5,002' paved strip at Jackson and lighted runway meet the aviation needs of the county.
The Tenn-Tom Waterway is another mode of transportation available in Clarke County. This waterway offers direct access to national as well as international markets. The city of Jackson in the southern part of the county has a port facility on this waterway.
Many trucking companies offer service in the Clarke County area, and Greyhound Bus service is available.
Grove Hill Municipal Airport
